PRINCE2 (Projects in Controlled Environments) is a structured project management method and certification programme for practitioners. PRINCE2 emphasises the division of projects into manageable and controllable stages. It is adopted in many countries around the world, including the UK, Western European countries and Australia.
PRINCE2 training is available in many languages. PRINCE2 was developed as a British government standard for information systems projects. In July 2013, ownership of the rights to PRINCE2 was transferred from HM Cabinet Office to AXELOS Ltd, a joint venture of the Cabinet Office and Capita, with 49% and 51% ownership respectively.
PRINCE2 helps to deliver projects of any size or complexity. It is therefore a process-oriented project management method. The structure of the project approach proposed by Prince2 is an excellent training and initiation tool for rational project management.
The formalism makes it possible to define a common logic and vocabulary to facilitate exchanges; this is also the advantage of using a standard method.
Let us also note the continuous learning orientation. Exams and certifications are administered by APM-Group worldwide.
